About Us

The Institute of Biological Engineering is a national organization dedicated to promoting interest and awareness of the many different aspects under the broad 'biological engineering', or engineering with biology as its base science. We want to connect the BEE department, with all its different concentrations and interests, from the students to the professors to the staff.

Cornell's chapter of IBE seeks to promote community and interest within the BEE department. We aim to assist in the career development of our members, promote unity and friendship among students interested in the field of biological and environmental engineering, and inform the general public about advancements in biological and environmental engineering

General Body Meetings

We hold a monthly general body, or G-body, meeting. Topics for each meeting vary, from company info sessions to research lab tours to graduate school advice panels. This is a great way to not only interact with the eboard and upperclassmen, but also with fellow peers.

This is a great space to write long text about your company and your services. You can use this space to go into a little more detail about your company. Talk about your team and what services you provide. Tell your visitors the story of how you came up with the idea for your business and what makes you different from your competitors.

BioExpo

BioExpo is an event where undergraduate and M. Eng students throughout the Cornell community are provided the opportunity showcase their research in the biological sciences. This showcases biological research in all its forms, from animal science to nutrition to engineering. Abstracts are submitted before the event and students create a poster summarizing their work. Posters are displayed throughout the day, followed by dinner, speakers and monetary awards for the top three presentations. More info will be posted on the BioExpo page as we near the event!

Thanksgiving Dinner

Our annual Thanksgiving dinner takes place in Weill Hall and serves as a relaxing gathering for BEE students and faculty before the craziness of finals begin. It's a wonderful night of fun, food, and friends! This is a great way to interact with professors on a casual, personal level, as well as meet fellow BEEs.
